A View of the Rooms, the House, & the Grounds
The Sommer Room
The Sommer Room, named for Peter N. Sommer, a Lutheran minister who lived on the property in the 1700s, has a Southeast exposure and is flooded with sunlight in the morning (if you want to sleep in, leave the shades down!). The Sommer Room has a private bathroom.
You can also see a little more information about Peter Sommer here.
The Pindar Room
Named after John Sigsbee Pindar, a U.S. Congressional Respresentative from New York who owned the house in the 19th century. (More biographical information about John Pindar can be found here.)
The Pindar Room has a private bathroom. A trundle bed can be wheeled in if guests need another sleeping space.
Sommer Room—Annex
This annex, which opens directly onto the Sommer Room, is perfect for families with children, adult children with their parents, or just as extra space for larger groups. It shares a bathroom with the main Sommer Room.
Living Room and Library
Our living room and library has seating for several, a working fireplace, and hundreds of books you can browse or take up to your room.
Dining Room
we serve a full breakfast every morning in the dining room. If you have special dietary requests, please notify us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of every country home, and Brickhouse B&B is no exception. A vintage Chambers Range (yes, like Rachel Ray uses, just not as shiny) and a coal heater keep things toasty when it's cold outside.
The Grounds
Brickhouse Bed and Breakfast is also a working farm, with 28 acres of fields bordered by a stream on the Southern edge. We also have a spring-fed pond with picnic tables if you need to get away from the main house for a while.
